The Simple Woman's Daybook - January 25, 2010

The Simple Woman's Daybook
January 25, 2010

FOR TODAY:

Outside my window...it has been snowing and blowing. We have had nasty weather since last Thursday. Rain that day. The ice built up so fast on my windshield I had to stop to scrape it off. I have been in the house since. It rained/iced until yesterday when the snow started. The wind is howling hard tonight.

I am thinking
...that if I can get a month's worth of menus planned I will save so much money next month when I do our shopping.

I am thankful for
... a good working furnace on this cold windy night.

I am wearing
...brown pants, lilac colored sweater, wool socks, and of course slippers.

I am remembering
...that I need to remember to make a chiropractor appointment tomorrow and to call the insurance company.

I am going
...to finish up a set of preemie hat, mitts, and booties to mail off this week.

I am currently reading
...The Familiar Stranger. It is such a good book.I find it hard to stop reading.

I am hoping
..to visit my aunt in February. I have to check the budget first.

On my mind
...the argument I had with my husband today.

Noticing that
...my computer desk really needs a good cleaning. Maybe tomorrow.

Pondering these words
...To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul; in you I trust, O my God.Psalm 25:1-2

From the kitchen...tonight we had chicken burritos. Tomorrow a pork roast with potatoes and carrots.

Around the house
... is a huge mess. Both of us a sorting through and throwing things away. You always have to make a bigger mess in order to make sense of the senseless.

One of my favorite things... and...From my picture journal..

  1. Ah! So glad to hear you're enjoying the book. Drop me a line when you finish (christina [@] christinaberry [dot] net) and then tell all your friends. ;)

I love cleaning, but you're right--always makes a bigger mess first.

  2. Mmmm...that pork roast with potatoes and carrots sure sounds good! So does the sorting through and throwing away...I need to do that! I'm assuming that's your son in the pic? My youngest son will be 25 this year. Where does the time go? Have a great day!
