The Simple Woman's Daybook - January 18, 2010

The Simple Woman's Daybook
January 18, 2010

For today:

Outside my window
...it was a beautiful sunshiny day. Not a cloud to be seen. It was in the middle 30s. It was glorious.

I am thinking
... of the project I am starting tomorrow. I picked up a wall paper book at the thrift store last week. In it I am going to paste all of the recipes that I have collected. That way they will all be in one place. A huge project. After that comes a book for all of the craft patterns I have collected.

I am thankful for... the life that God has given me. Sometimes I forget to be grateful. Sometimes I am stingy in my prayers. I don't give thanks where thanks are due. But God has provided for me wonderfully and I need to acknowledge that.

I am wearing
...blue pants, gray turtleneck, greenish blue sweatshirt, socks and slippers.

I am remembering... MLK. I wonder what he thinks of having a day set aside especially for him. He probably feels unworthy of such a tribute. But not many other men deserve it as much as him.

I am going
... to the doctor later in the week. It is time for the annual physical. I know she is going to want to schedule the dreaded colonoscopy test. After that I am grocery shopping and going to the food coop. And I am going to schedule a hearing test for myself. Too many loud concerts I think. On the weekend a visit to the used book store. And I need to buy more baby yarn.

I am currently reading
..."A Woman's High Calling" by Elizabeth George, I am starting to read "Familiar Stranger" by Christina Berry.

I am hoping
...that the nice weather hold for the week. Or maybe the month, or the rest of the winter season. My husband thinks it is our Indian Summer.

On my mind
...I am trying to write the first part of a story in my head. I wonder if I can still do that. I used to right whole papers in my head before ever putting them to paper. I want to be able to post the first installment of the story by Friday.

Noticing that
...God works miracles even in the face of disaster. I just heard of a newborn baby being found alive in Haiti.

Pondering these words
..."Love makes the world go round" It becomes so apparent that we are all in this world together when tragedy strikes. People from all over hurry to help as best they can. That is love for one another.

From the kitche
n...new chicken recipe for dinner tonight. Was so very good. Plus potatoes and green beans.

Around the house
...still Christmas decorations. I am slowly getting them put away.

One of my favorite things...music.

From my picture journal...

He needs to have is own pillow on the couch. But he isn't spoiled.

Crocheted baby socks. I took an adult pattern and made it smaller.
